Of broken wrists, Visa delays, and MTC entry

While my broken wrist and subsequent surgery slowed me down for awhile, I soon found work-arounds for many activities. Foremost was finishing up cards and gifts for family and friends. Just before General Conference I finished the last of the Christmas/New Years' cards for 2018/2019. (I had originally been scheduled to return home on the 30th of December 2018.)

I finally received clearance from the doctor, effective March 17th. But still no visa, despite numerous calls to the Missionary Department and the Visa/Travel Department. Then on Monday morning, early, 27 March 2017, I had a call from the Church Travel Department; they didn't yet have my Visa in hand, but had been notified that it had been approved. Could I be prepared to enter the MTC the following Monday, 3 April 2017. Suddenly, everything changed and I went into full preparation mode.
