A major setback and change of plans

AM - scraped arm
On January 10th I put the trash out for collection and slipped on the ice, scraping my my arm rather well. If I had only stopped there. But I had a full list of errands in the Orem area, starting with Hobby Lobby and working my way north to the clinic where I was to pick up the prescriptions for a year worth of medications (the limit allowed at one time).

PM - broken wrist
I got to the first and last destinations on my list! While at Hobby Lobby, I caught my foot while pivoting and fell, knocking over the shopping cart and landing on my left arm. It REALLY hurt. With the help of a kind lady from the next aisle over I righted the cart and checked out. My interim plan had been to drive to the clinic, which is also an instacare, get some help and go home. The errands could wait for another day. By the time I got out to the car, my arm was hurting so much that I could only sit there and cry. Finally, one handed, I called Beth and asked if she could come for me. She did. We went to the instacare and found out that it was broken and would probably require surgery. It did! On the 23rd of January I had a titanium plate, fastened with nine screws, put into my arm. That was followed by several sessions of physical therapy.

A few weeks earlier, Isabel had broken her arm and was quite pleased that she and I matched for a time.

Later I found out that it would also postpone my mission -- until the doctor was willing to sign off and release me from his care.
